While running your miles this month is an option what if we walked them instead…and kept walking long past this month!

We'll let you in on a little secret...we are big fans of walking!  In fact recent studies done on all-cause mortality show that moving more throughout your day plays a big role in your overall health.  Walking is a great way to improve or maintain your overall health. Just 30 minutes every day can increase cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones, reduce excess body fat, and boost muscle power and endurance. ... Unlike some other forms of exercise, walking is free and doesn't require any special equipment or training.

Benefits of Walking:
Lower stress and improved mood.
Exposure to Vitamin D. 
Lower body mass index (BMI).
Better Heart Health / Lower blood pressure and cholesterol.
Lower fasting blood sugar (glucose)
Better memory and cognitive function. 
Longer life.

🚨 April Challenge Alert 🚨 Run (or walk) a 🚨 April Challenge Alert 🚨 

Run (or walk) a marathon (26.2 miles) by the end of the month. Miles logged as part of a FitWit class don’t count towards your total. Accumulate your miles in any fashion you like, including run/walk for those just starting to run. Or  maybe you aren’t so keen on running or you have an injury that prevents you from running, you can make it a walking challenge instead. There are so many benefits to getting outside and just simply walking on a daily basis - from active recovery to stress relief to improving cognitive function and much more. 
 
BUT, in order to count your miles for this challenge, you must complete the warm-up drills from the video found in your Friday email. Keep track of your miles and send us your name at the end of the month when completed to be entered into a raffle for FitWit gear. Let’s go, team!
