Clapping it up for July’s Member of the Month – Will Acosta! We can’t say enough good things about Will. Members and coaches would agree: he is an absolute joy to have in class. He’s hands down one of the most positive and encouraging members that we have…not only cheering on his fellow classmates but also always making a point to cheer for the coaches as well! Members say how much they love being in class with Will because his positive energy is just so awesome to be around. On top of all that, he’s been crushing the committed club game, keeping up with regular workouts and checking in with his coaches even when he’s out of town. He helps create the best hour of everyone’s day at his workouts and we are so grateful to have Will as a member of FitWit. A++++ all around for Will! Congrats.

When did you first start FitWit-ing? April 2016 when the space over on College Ave opened. I was in the Studio classes at first.
Tell us about your sports & fitness background:
I was not an athlete growing up. As an adult, I dabbled in spinning, weight lifting, and general gym-going during my college days. I started Crossfit in 2011 and loved the group dynamics and movements, but the injuries were too much.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting FitWit?
Hmm I have peaks and valleys in all my work. I have not really tracked much in the last couple of years. I was really into rowing when y’all had the studio and had good improvements, but have not topped my personal best since that time.
What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like FitWit that were totally unexpected?
I really have not had any unexpected changes. I know that I love group fitness and good coaching. I thrive in that accountability.
Why do you FitWit?
Amazing program and people – both members and coaches.
Love a row and anything with a kettlebell
Least favorite workouts?
Running-kills my knees.
Three words to describe you:
Foodie, Explorer, Social.
Any favorite FitWit moments?
When I transitioned from Studio classes to regular classes and saw that the craziness was not so crazy and that it was still fun.
Improve squat and deadlift form and strength. A pull up would be good; definitely dropping some pounds.
Words to live by?
“You will not be remembered for what you did, but by how you make people feel.“
Something cool we don’t know about you?
I think pickling and canning stuff is cool.
Anything else you’d care to share?
I am very grateful to be able to be a part of this community.
