A six-week course for women led by Registered Dietitian, Christina Ellenberg, October 11th- November 15th. Meetings will be held on Zoom around a mid-week lunch time or a mid-week evening depending on input from class participants. Meetings will also be recorded for those who can’t make a class.
About this class:
Aren’t diets exhausting? All those food rules to follow. All that brain space and obsession over eating the “perfect meal”. All that “willpower” you need. Only to feel like a complete failure when you decide to give up.
When did eating get so complicated?
Think about it. I bet you are currently following some type of food rule that you picked up from a previous diet. After years of “unsuccessful” diets, have you ever considered that the diet is the problem, not you? Research shows that 95% of diets fail because they are unsustainable. The Diet industry is a multi-million dollar industry and they would go bankrupt if they gave you the tools to be successful.
Imagine having peace with your food choices and not spending all of your time worrying about food and instead being able to trust your body’s natural cues to nourish and fuel yourself fully! Stop the restriction, over eat, guilt, repeat, cycle and stop feeling out of control with food.
What is Intuitive Eating?
Intuitive Eating is an evidenced-based, mind-body health approach, composed of 10 principles and created by two dietitians, Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch in 1995. It is a weight-neutral model with a validated assessment scale and over 90 studies to date (Tribole 2017). Intuitive Eating is a dynamic integration between mind and body. The principles work by either cultivating or removing obstacles to body awareness, a process known as interoceptive awareness. Essentially, Intuitive Eating is a personal process of honoring health by listening and responding to internal cues rather than external cues in order to meet your physical and psychological needs.
What is NOT Intuitive Eating?
Intuitive Eating is not a diet or food plan. Period. It’s not another tactic to lose weight. There is no pass or fail, therefore there is no “blowing it.” Rather, it’s a journey of self-discovery and connection to the needs of your mind and body. There is nothing to count: this includes no counting of calories, carbs, points, or macros.

Christina is so knowledgeable and kind. I have re-learned things and she’s really helping me unlearn garbage we’ve been fed via the media for decades that’s so damaging. ie carbs are bad, eat less to lose weight. I’ve learned I’m not eating enough and by eating more I am feeling better in my body. Who knew!! I highly recommend working with Christina. She’s really fantastic! -Terri E
About six months ago, I first started working with Christina in the Platinum program. It has been an extremely beneficial experience. We didn’t change my lifestyle overnight and each week I worked on incorporating something new to my eating habits. It has been a learning experience and your body will adjust! Your body will start to feel better! You will see a significant difference by just learning, tips, and encouragement. I personally have had to do some blood work and Christina provided some suggestions for me when speaking to my physician. She has been an active coach and it has been a positive experience . It is a true investment in your health for a long term result. -Jonna H
Working with Christina and the platform nutrition program has helped me tremendously. The Covid lifestyle of stress, the refrigerator being just a staircase away and feeding four other people three times a day (plus snacks) was wreaking havoc on my eating habits and making me feel blah. Meeting with Christina made me feel like healthy eating was possible, sustainable and not as difficult as I thought it would be. She offered great strategies, and solutions, and even met me at Costco to help with grocery shopping. I feel so much better now that I’m thinking about what I consume, versus eating whatever I found in the pantry because I was starving. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to improve their nutrition. – Amanda C
