Bringing back and old video this week to remind us to PAUSE before we pick up the fork or open that big bag o’ chips. Summer time can lead to a lot of mindless snacking as we enjoy cookouts and get togethers.
Do yourself a favor and ask yourself these questions BEFORE you go for that second helping or double scoop waffle cone…
- Why am I eating this? (aka am I actually hungry?)
- Is this leading me towards or away from my goals?
- How do you think you will feel after you eat it? (satisfied or regret)
One more bonus question I would add is “Is there anything I can do to make this a little bit better?” For example have 1 scoop of ice cream instead of 2, take the bun off my burger, make sure I eat a veggie with the pizza. Taking just a minute before you eat to ask this questions will help you avoid mindless eating and to be empowered to make food choices that will leave you feeling satisfied.
